GPRS Teams Up with archSCAN to Streamline Integration of Historical Data into SiteMap®

When GPRS launched SiteMap® (patent pending) in 2023, the goal was clear: to break down communication barriers in construction and facility management by providing a single, unified platform for all infrastructure-related data.

Since its debut, SiteMap® has grown to support over 10,000 active users and now holds data from more than 200,000 sites nationwide.

To enhance SiteMap’s capabilities, GPRS has partnered with archSCAN, a Maryland-based leader in document review, management, and scanning. This collaboration enables the seamless integration of clients’ historical documentation with the accurate, field-verified data collected on-site by GPRS’s expert Project Managers.

About archSCAN

Since its founding in 2002, archSCAN has specialized in digitizing hard-copy large-format blueprints, as-built drawings, and small-format documents. Their team of experienced archivists has worked with hospitals, universities, government agencies, and other organizations to convert millions of physical records into secure, searchable electronic files.

With over 150 years of combined experience, archSCAN’s expertise in organizing and managing facility-related documentation perfectly aligns with SiteMap’s mission of providing a comprehensive, customizable data management solution. Their cloud-based and on-premises document management services empower clients to centralize their records, making it easier to access and manage critical project information.

A Powerful Combination

The GPRS-archSCAN partnership takes SiteMap’s capabilities to the next level, offering a complete solution for both historical and real-time infrastructure data. SiteMap® users can now access utility layouts, as-built drawings, 3D models, floor plans, structural drawings, subsurface void details, drone imagery, sewer video inspections, and storage tank information — all in one secure, user-friendly platform.

“ArchSCAN’s document solutions pair perfectly with GPRS’ ability to deliver an updated view of facility infrastructure,” said Jason Schaff, GPRS Chief Strategy Officer and SiteMap® Product Executive. “This partnership helps our clients take control of their assets by eliminating incomplete records, inconsistent data, and poor communication.”

SiteMap® Pro: Next-Level Control for Facility Management

To meet the diverse needs of construction and facility management professionals, GPRS has introduced multiple subscription tiers for SiteMap®.

One of the most powerful offerings is SiteMap® Pro, which provides full administrative control over all infrastructure data for an entire facility or campus. From tracking every utility installation, renovation, and repair to managing all project phases from pre-planning to operation and maintenance (O&M), SiteMap® Pro is a complete, end-to-end solution.

SiteMap® Pro enables secure aggregation of all site-related data, which can now include digitized legacy records thanks to the archSCAN partnership. Clients can compare existing as-builts with the field-verified data captured by GPRS’s Project Managers, giving them a clearer, more accurate picture of their facility’s current state.

Subscribers to SiteMap® Pro also receive administrative access for up to five users, enabling seamless collaboration on ongoing projects. Real-time updates ensure that stakeholders stay informed as changes occur.

Upgrading to SiteMap® 2.0

In December 2024, GPRS launched SiteMap® 2.0, introducing a wide range of enhancements for desktop and mobile users. The update improved the platform’s interface, performance, and usability.

Key upgrades included:

  • Streamlined User Interface for a more intuitive experience
  • Enhanced Search Capabilities to quickly locate specific project data
  • Faster Point Cloud Processing for handling large datasets more efficiently
  • Expanded Export Options for improved data sharing and reporting

“With the launch of SiteMap, our customers found tremendous value in having underground data and aboveground infrastructure in one central platform,” said Dustin Snavely, Director of National Sales for GPRS. “With SiteMap 2.0, our customers gain faster uploads, better mobile platform options, and an expanded ability to upload data, making SiteMap the ultimate hub for all infrastructure information.”

GPRS is currently scheduling live, personalized demos of SiteMap® for those interested in seeing how the platform can transform their construction and facility management processes. From planning and design to digging and building, SiteMap® helps you make better, more informed decisions every step of the way.
